By the time hotel and location fees are added on, a room advertised at $261/night ended up at $333/night. The location was NOT in Santa Barbara, but in the town adjacent. Hilton took over a motel, which had certain charms, but I don't think they finished updating: large crack in the bathroom sink, electrical outlets on the outside of walls instead of being flush with the wall-very odd.

Great design in lobby and room, nice outdoor seating, clean room. Helpful staff. Fan in room a little noisy.
The staff are incredible, as is the foyer, pool area, walkways, and general layout with free parking near your room, motel style - I love that. I also LOVE that it's dog friendly - major plus! Linens were nice, very clean and bed/pillows very comfortable. Flooring and furniture are cheap and plasticky but I didn't mind bc of the dog aspect. BUT the place needs a BIG maintenance once-over by Hilton!! our heat/cool/fan unit didn't work at all and appeared to be half torn out of the wall so we were scared to mess with it, our keys didn't work most of the time (not the staff's fault, it was the key maker on the fritz), the icky sliding "barn door" to the bathroom was permanently stained and nasty, ill-fitting and poorly designed (didn't even close all the way), there should be some signage indicating room range/wing visible from the parking, and there are VERY few amenities for the price. Hint - if the restaurant and bar will be closed during the entire stay, and you will be on skeleton staffing, don't charge a "resort" fee). Oh, and since you welcome dogs, please put a few outdoor trash cans around for the "bags" that doggies require! I will definitely be back but hope things improve or this place will fail...
