Beautifully decorated with reliefs of the Emperor, it is roofed with more than 2,700 gilt copper tiles - hence its name. From here, Maximilian watched festivities in the square below. An informative audiovisual show and the “Maximilianeum” museum (behind the Goldenes Dachl) will fill you in on Maximilian's life and times.
