The Cibeles fountain with the post office behind is a classic Madrid scene. When to photograph: Mornings and late afternoons are best since the strong midday sun flattens perspective and washes out colours. Where to buy film: branches of VIPs shops and Corte Inglés (department stores) carry a wide range of film and camera batteries. WHEN DEPARTING Check the time of your return flight the day before departure. In 1999 Line 8 was extended to the airport, which now has its own Metro station. But, whether getting to the airport by car or Metro, allow extra time if you are travelling during the morning or afternoon rush hours. |
