PHOTOGRAPHY

What to photograph: after years of secret police lurking on every street corner you are now free to photograph almost anywhere.

Where to buy film: Staré Město (Old Town) and Malá Strana (Lesser Quarter) have numerous small shops selling Western film. Avoid Czech colour film as you may not be able to get it processed outside the country.

Where to get film developed: photo shops are all over the tourist areas so finding a place to get your photos developed should not be a problem.

WHEN DEPARTING

Contact the airline at least 72 hours before departure to reconfirm your booking to prevent being 'bumped' from that plane because of over-allocation.

There is an airport departure tax which is normally included in the cost of the ticket.

Antiques can only be exported with a certificate, issued by the National Museum or National Gallery, indicating the object is not of Czech national heritage.
