PHOTOGRAPHY

Light: Tuscany is noted for its soft light compared to the brighter light of the south and the hazier light of the north of the country.

Where you can photograph: Most museums and certain churches will not allow you to photograph inside; check first.

Film and developing: A roll of film is called a pellicola, but 'film' should get you understood. Film and developing are much more expensive in Italy than in the UK or USA.

WHEN DEPARTING

Contact the airport or airline the day prior to leaving to ensure flight details are unchanged.

The airport departure tax, payable when you leave Italy, is included in the cost of the airline ticket.

Check the duty-free limits of the country you are entering before departure.
