Bancroft
From late July to early August the Bancroft Rockhound Gemboree offers 4 days of mineral shows, demonstrations and field trips. Also during July and August, mineral-collecting field trips are offered on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Contact the chamber of commerce for details.
Eagles Nest Lookout is a picnic site 2 kilometres (1.2 mi.) north on Hwy. 62. From an elevation of 488 metres (1,600 ft.) it overlooks the village and surrounding countryside. The Hastings Heritage Trail is a recreational corridor that follows an abandoned railway bed across Hastings County, from Glen Ross to Lake St. Peter; it can be used for bicycling, hiking, skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, horseback riding, bird-watching and wildlife viewing.
