This 1838 four-story mansion has played many roles: residences, a boarding house, offices for the Girl Scouts of the United States of America and even a bordello in the 1920s. But since 1980 it has been operating as a bed-and-breakfast, earning its reputation as one of the finest inns in Savannah. You’ll receive a tasty breakfast and daily complimentary snacks, port and sherry as well as afternoon tea served on fine china from a pretty silver set. Ten of the 16 rooms—each with different décor—include a fireplace. Ballastone’s neighbor is the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace, founder of the Girl Scouts.

Built in 1892, this gorgeous four-story Renaissance Revival mansion was home to William Kehoe—an Irish immigrant who made his fortune in the iron industry—and his wife and 10 children.
