Seeing Stockholm

For all its size Stockholm is a city that can be enjoyed on a human scale. You can see it by tour bus, or you can book a knowledgeable personal guide or a taxi tour, although the latter is expensive. Try a boat trip for the wider view of Stockholm's islands, and visit some attractions, such as Djurgården and Drottningholm Palace, by ferry boat. Ask at the tourist center about the Stockholmskortet (Stockholm Card). Once purchased, it offers free admission to around 70 museums and attractions; a free boat trip; free public transportation in Stockholm and the surrounding area; free city-center parking for one, two or three days; and other benefits.

Stockholm is neatly packaged into separate entities because of its island nature, so you can plan your visit one day at a time. At night the city becomes even more majestic when it is lit up and vibrant with music and lively entertainment.
