Manitoulin Island

Gordon's Park, near Tehkummah just north of Regional Road 542 at 18777 Hwy. 6, offers recreational activities year-round. An outdoor wildlife museum, two hiking trails, bicycling, snowmobiling, archery, astronomy and miniature golf are some of the options; phone (705) 859-2470.

Farmers markets are held Fridays and Saturdays at several locations on the island between Victoria Day weekend and the second Monday in October. Fresh produce, baked goods and local crafts are among the items for sale; phone (705) 377-4045 for information. The island also contains five First Nations reserves.

Manitoulin Island is accessible from the Bruce Peninsula by ferry from Tobermory or from Espanola via Hwy. 6 to Little Current.
