Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park is 2 blks. s. of US 290 in Johnson City. Covering 675 acres, some of which the Johnson family had owned since the late 1860s, the park consists of the Johnson City District and the LBJ Ranch District, each once home to President Johnson. The home where he was born has been reconstructed on the site where the original once stood. His boyhood home remains in its original location. The visitor center chronicles LBJ's life and accomplishments and features a tribute to Lady Bird Johnson. The visitor center is open daily 9-5. Guided boyhood home tours depart daily 9-4:30.
