I’ll give the cruise itself a five star rating, but our experience purchasing Royal Caribbean ground transportation through AAA gets a zero! I do not plan to purchase another cruise through AAA, at least not through AAA online. I needed to buy ground transportation and could not do it directly through the cruise line because I had purchased my cruise through a travel agent, so I had to call and set it up through my travel agent. There was never any documentation sent to me about ground transportation so not only did I not have proof that I had purchased it, but I had no idea what I was supposed to do once in the airport. I tried to call AAA the evening before and morning of my cruise, but AAA is closed on the weekends so therefore I had no way to receive information from my travel agent about what to do. Luckily I was able to speak with Royal Caribbean the morning of our cruise, which was a Sunday, and they informed me of what to do. Royal Caribbean‘s process for ground transportation was horrible, but that is not AAA‘s fault. It is AAA‘s fault that you were not available to help me when I needed assistance. Also, I was to receive a free 8 x 10 picture and I had to spend 20 minutes at the service desk to get that worked out. Also, while on the boat, I spent 45 minutes at the service desk because the ground transportation that I had arranged through AAA was not correct in the royal Caribbean system and things had to be readjusted. Overall the transportation issue ruined the end of this trip for me and soured my opinion of using a travel agent.
