About BartlettWith Bear Mountain to the south, Mount Parker to the north and symmetrical Mount Carrigan rising at the western end of the valley, Bartlett is a year-round recreation center. The land along the Saco River east of its emergence from Crawford Notch was granted to William Stark and several others for their service in the French and Indian War; the village was incorporated in 1790.

From Bartlett a scenic road runs south through Bear Notch to the Kancamagus Highway.
