About Munising Munising's harbor is protected from the brunt of Lake Superior's gales by Grand Island; the town is guarded on the landward side by a ring of sharply rising hills. A number of waterfalls cascade down the slopes within the city limits. Grand Island is a national recreation area; Munising also provides access to Hiawatha National Forest and is the eastern gateway to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
The city is the eastern terminus of a scenic section of SR 28 that skirts the shore of Lake Superior to US 41 and Marquette.

To pass inspection, all hotels must meet the same rigorous standards for cleanliness, comfort and hospitality. These hotels receive a AAA Diamond designation that tells members what type of experience to expect.
As a AAA member, you'll save even more. Your AAA Travel Agent will check to see if AAA Vacations is combinable with other AAA member benefits, plus cruise and tour past passenger discounts and benefits.
