USEFUL WORDS AND PHRASES
You'll be well received if you try to pronounce words correctly. Don't worry too much about rolling your r's, though; the French realize how difficult it can be. Final consonants are seldom pronounced. For instance, the masculine adjective ouvert (open) is pronounced [oo ver]; the feminine ouverte [oo vert]. The final consonant in a word like vin, bon or grand alters the last vowel, making it nasal.
