About BryanBryan is the county seat of Brazos County and a major educational and commercial center. Many of its first settlers were colonists who arrived with Stephen F. Austin, but not until the Houston & Texas Central Railroad arrived in 1860 did Bryan begin to take shape. The city has prospered with an economy based upon diversified agriculture and industry.
