In addition, most shops in central Edinburgh are open until 8pm on Thu and many open 12-5 on Sun. Tourist-oriented shops are
also open on Sun all over the city, as is the Gyle Centre, a huge out-of-town shopping centre on the western outskirts. Some
city centre banks remain open until 5 or 5:30. Edinburgh has all-day licensing in its pubs and bars, which are normally open
11am-11pm or later.
