- The Ghent Festival. The biggest cultural folk festival in Europe. Held annually in the second half of July. A multicultural festival lasting ten days and almost completely free. A collection of street theatre, cultural debate about society, youth happenings, fair and open-air spectaculars. The list is supplemented by cabaret, concerts, fireworks, sculpture on the inland waterways, music and all this many times over - this gives you some idea what the festival includes.
