Vieille Ville

Until the 1970s Nice's Vieille Ville (Old Town) was a decaying slum, with neglected buildings and narrow streets. Today it's one of the liveliest, most colorful neighborhoods in the city, brimming with life, shops, bars - and noise, with interesting old houses, baroque churches, and 17th- and 18th-century civic buildings lining its streets. The cours Saleya is the hub of the quarter, an elongated square that is the home of Nice's famous fresh produce and antiques markets.

Open: Fruit and vegetable markets: Tue.-Sun. morning. Antiques market: Mon. Flower market: Tue.-Sat. all day, Sun. morning. All located on cours Saleya
