Midland
Midland now is a vacation center on southern Georgian Bay. Recreational activities in the summer include boating, swimming, windsurfing, fishing, golfing and scuba diving, while winter offers ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
Beausoleil Island, the principal unit of the Georgian Bay Islands National Park, is 8 kilometres (5 mi.) from Midland. Four kilometres (2.5 mi.) from Midland by water and 47 kilometres (30 mi.) by highway is the popular Honey Harbour resort. Hotels supply boats and guides.
