Cathédrale St.-Michel et Ste.-Gudule
Work began on the Cathédrale St.-Michel et Ste.-Gudule (Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula) in the 13th century. Architecturally,
the building is a lesson in the various forms of Brabantine Gothic that evolved over the 300 years it took to complete the
work. Inside the church, baroque style is lavishly celebrated by giant figures of the Apostles, while Renaissance influence
shines from the exceptional stained glass of the 16th-century west window. The Romanesque remains of an 11th-century church
can be seen down in the crypt.
