Frammuseet

The centerpiece of the Frammuseet (Fram Museum) is the preserved Arctic exploration vessel Fram, with a bow like a battering ram and a hull as solid as a castle wall. The Fram was built in 1892 and was used by Norwegian explorers Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen in polar expeditions. Go aboard the Fram to see its sturdiness and get a sense of the tough, determined life that its crew led.
