Courtyard by Marriott Williamsburg Busch Gardens Area

This location needs some work. We were in a suite for a multi-day stay to go to Busch Gardens and Water Country. The location was great. The hotel and room, not so much. The refridgerator in our room was not working, it was not fixed or replaced. They would not swap it out with a working one from a vacant room either. Thankfully, we had a cooler with us for the Lactaid our toddler requires. We kept that full with ice. The ice machine on our floor was not working, so this required a trip to another floor. One of the two elevators was also not working, so movement up and down was constrained based on the number of other guests, the size of the elevator, and only one elevator working. Additionally, the closest exterior door to our room was not working to enter into the hotel, occasionally it was propped open (security issue). The water pressure in the shower was extremely poor. The sofa bed mattress was from the dawn of time and extremely uncomfortable, even for young children. Marriott needs to remember to replace those on a regular schedule. The carpets in the hallways and room were separating at the seams (safety hazard). The staff was pleasant. This was not an enjoyable Marriott stay, the property needs some major rehab and maintenance.

We checked in on Monday checked out on Friday. NO housekeeping the whole time! And yes, we asked for it. Constantly called the desk for basics - towels toilet paper tissues. Never a reason on as to why no service. Said they would get someone there, never happened. On Wednesday after yet another call to clean the room, someone not from Housekeeping ( who was extremely nice helpful and polite), was sent with those things and bed sheets. He asked if I wanted help to change them and did a great job! We took trash outside to the can by the main lobby ourselves every day. 4 people in a room 2 were kids 9 and 14. I did NOT drive with them from Pennsylvania to ‘vacation’ cleaning up and making beds so things would be clean. It was not my job, it’s housekeeping’s responsibility. Yet they were on our floor once or twice asked them to please clean the room were told they were cleaning rooms only that people were checking into. And when we did check in the room was clearly given the once-over. Bottom of the end table had at least 2 inches of dust and the a c unit’s vents were spitting out dust bunnies. Something I’m sure they are supposed to do - not just make beds. Have planned and saved for this for over a year and I’m very dissatisfied with that Marriott that AAA recommended. The location was perfect, but there were other hotels near by too. I’m venting because we have stayed at Marriott hotels before with great service. Would definitely not recommend

Was very nice asked for handicapped room. They only had a hearing impaired room.
