We stayed in Valdosta, Ga just after the hurricane hit them. I had no idea the hurricane had damaged the area, but no one told me the hotel had sustained damage when I checked in. I checked in with a nice gentleman who had to look at a written piece of paper to see what room I was in and make a copy of my debit card to run at a later time. He could not make us a key for the room and had to let us in our room. When we went in, the room smelled horrible! We had our 4 year old and 8 month old with us. My husband went to get our bags, I took off my shoes and touched the floor and it was soaking wet! When my husband came back, I went to tell the gentleman about the room. He promptly put us in another room. It didn’t smell as bad, and if the floor was wet, it was barely wet, BUT! There appeared to be mold or mildew on the wall. Since we had already brought our kids in and unsettled them, we decided to stay. We got up the next morning and quickly got out as fast as we could. I just wish we had been informed that there was issues at the hotel so we could have made an informed decision on staying ahead of time. When I looked at my reservation the morning after we left, we should have had two queen beds, not one king.

The staff was friendly, the room was nice and clean. The beds were very comfortable and they served a great continental breakfast.
