The rooms were nice, but you do need to request upgrades in order to get the nice rooms. The Kali tower is old and on renovated as of my stay in April 20 25 and I would not recommend due to this. I ended up spending a great deal of money trying to be in a nice server tower. I stayed in the rainbow tower and also in the Tapa tower. I would recommend either of these with the caveat that neither of them are newly renovated as they stated, but our new were than the other. I also felt a little bit dismayed at the end because during my stay, the focus seem to be more about upgrading my room and selling me other trips and resources more so than giving me information about the things I had already paid so much money for. With that being said Hawaii is gorgeous and there was so much to do that. I let these things go and enjoyed my trip otherwise but this hotel is pricey for what it is.
The resort was wonderful
Overcrowded. Was unable to get a chair by the pool the whole 5 days we were there. Pools were not heated and cold. Restaurants were way understaffed. Waited 45 minutes for breakfast while half of the tables were consistently empty. The staff, other than housekeeping, were unhelpful, uncaring. Ridiculously expensive for what they provide. Nickled and dimed at every turn. It's definitely getting rundown but since t h ey get top dollar there's no motivation to improve service or accommodations
