Great price fast accommodation cannot thank triple A enough for what they did for me and my wife. We were almost contemplating sleeping in our car rather than the hotel we found that wasn't triple A approved.1

The woman who checked me in as well as the young man who helped when I was having problems with my room were really nice. Unfortunately, that is the reason why the Inn received two stars. Our original room was located by an ice machine, under stairs. The room was musty and had no proper ventilation. The mattress was quite possibly the hardest I have ever slept on and the thin comforters had holes and bleach stains on both beds. The room, in general, appeared as though it was not cleaned with the exception of the beds made and fresh towels placed (contrary to what the nice woman said upon check-in). When we arrived back to our room on the second night, there was a cockroach walking along the headboard of the bed I was sleeping in. I had taken a picture of it and went to the front office to seek assistance. After speaking with a staff member - his demeanor told me maybe he was the manager on duty - I mentioned I too am in hospitality and that I am trying to not be “that” person, which was why I waited until the lobby was clear before telling him of the bug issue. I was told that the pest control company comes once a month but not every room is sprayed every month. He said the roaches I saw could be a result from the spraying and that he would go in and spray again. I asked what he would spray in the room and I was told Raid. I proceeded to tell him no because that causes respiratory issues and the room should be clear for 24-48 hours before someone sleeps in it and that I am now concerned for those people who would stay in the room after me. I asked for a change of room and he obliged after notifying me the hotel was sold out. The new room was clean; smelled and looked so as opposed to the first room. Unfortunately, although the beds in this room had a thin mattress pad atop, it couldn’t mask how awful and uncomfortably hard they were. If harsh chemicals are being sprayed in a hotel, ALL guests must be made aware. The staff should not be responsible for pest control maintenance and I would venture to guess that Rodeway Inn doesn’t train their staff and provide licensing for pest control either. Both rooms, and the entire hotel for that matter, need serious upgrades from proper painting, patching holes and noticeable imperfections in the walls and ceiling, to replacing and upgrading carpeting and bathroom tub fixtures. I suffer from degenerative discs in my lower lumbar and cervical spine, and have been checked out of the hotel since Sunday - my back is currently a wreck and I’ve spent over $700 to have this awful experience. I am shocked this hotel was recommended by AAA.
