Sangre de Cristo Mountains Scenic Drive

57.0 miles: 1 hours, 2 minutes

Sangre de Cristo Mountains Scenic Drive (SR 69) is a pleasant drive alongside the snow-capped Sangre de Cristo range, traversing tranquil ranchlands. Your journey gently ascends in elevation into a series of narrow valleys through rocky, reddish mountains. After traversing the open, high plains, you gently descend into another series of narrow valleys.

Prairie lands dust the landscape with soft greenery along Sangre de Cristo Mountains Scenic Drive (SR 69). A herd of blue-hued mountains in the Sangre de Cristo range clusters between the earth and sky in the near distance. Cattle ranches and red barns dot the high plains scenery. Pine trees are scattered throughout the byway, often foresting the reddish hills.
