Musée Alsacien

If you only have time to visit one museum, it should be the Musée Alsacien (Alsation Museum) - a charming regional venue housed in a disorderly canal-side building. Not only does it give a chance to see the interior courtyards and inside of a 15th-century house, but it's crammed with attractive displays, all illustrating traditional Alsatian life. There are complete rooms and workshops, colorful pottery and glass, regional costumes and much more. Look for the votive pictures - naive religious paintings commissioned as prayer and thanks to God, and illustrating farm animals, children and loved ones.
