In addition to the rambling warren of fine rooms and staircases, there are courtyards, one of which is planted with medicinal herbs and plants similar to a 13th-century garden. Some of the cathedral's most precious sculptures are kept here, giving the public a chance to admire the elegance of 14th-century Gothic sculpture. The streamlined Seven Wise Virgins is a highlight, as is the nearby group of singularly unintimidating lions from the cathedral's main facade.
