7.1 miles: 0 hours, 13 minutes

The mostly two-lane Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway takes you through rolling country hillsides. From the bustle of downtown Wilmington to the quiet small towns along state routes 52 and 100, the tree-lined roads pass by magnificent country estates, beautiful gardens and quaint historic villages.

Along the Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway, SR 52/SR 100, you’ll go from busy downtown Wilmington to quiet small towns, and past the Brandywine Creek State Park on SR 100. Get a glimpse of extravagant country mansions and gardens built by wealthy Americans in the early 20th century. Scenic in every season, some of the roadway is tree-lined and has stone fences running along the side.
