Cumberland Gap Scenic Parkway

50.4 miles: 0 hours, 57 minutes

US 25E traverses the Appalachian Mountains over beautiful lakes and into the remarkable expanse of the Cumberland Gap, which predates Native American tribes as a natural passageway. Stand at the crossroads of Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia as you take in the wooded expanse between the impressive mountains.

You’ll ascend steep mountain passes along Cumberland Gap Parkway as you travel US 25E over Lake Cherokee toward the Tennessee side of Cumberland Gap National Historical Park. Watch for historical markers that highlight the path Daniel Boone first explored in 1769. The town of Cumberland Gap offers a glimpse into local culture; rent bicycles there to explore the park in depth.
