Rebuilt after World War II in a bleak style, it is now scheduled for renovations. Two old buildings have survived: the Rotes Rathaus (Red City Hall), built from 1861 to 1869 in Italian Renaissance style; and the St. Marien-Kirche (St. Mary's Church), built from 1270 to 1340 and Berlin's second-oldest parish church.
