The Basics

There’s a small admission charge for Ancol Dreamland itself, which includes access to its lively art market, beaches, and food options. Fees for the individual attractions are more substantial, although cheaper during the week than on weekends or public holidays. Popular packages include a combo ticket with entrance to the Fantasy World theme park and the Sea World Ancol marine wildlife attraction, or tickets with entrance to just Faunaland or the ecopark. For ease, some packages include door-to-door round-trip transport from Jakarta hotels.

How to Get There

Ancol Dreamland is located on the waterfront in downtown Jakarta, around 4 miles (7 kilometers) north of MONAS (National Monument of Indonesia). It’s on Corridor 5 of the TransJakarta rapid transit bus system and will eventually have an MRT station. In the meantime, most travelers will find it easiest to join a tour or hire a private driver.

When to Get There

Ancol Dreamland is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, although individual attractions have shorter hours. It can be a lively and atmospheric spot to visit at night, although weekends and Indonesian public holidays are extremely crowded. Don’t even think about visiting during the Lebaran holiday at the end of Ramadan.

What Is There to Do at Ancol Dreamland?

While some of the attractions are a little dated, there’s plenty to see and do at Ancol Dreamland. Fantasy World is a large theme park with roller coasters, flumes, and more. Ocean Dream Samudra and Sea World Ancol are both oceanariums, and Atlantis Water Adventures is a water park. Other attractions include wakeboarding, an ecopark, and the Faunaland zoo.
