How to get there

Loma Larga Vineyards & Winery is located in the Casablanca Valley, about a 45-minute drive from Vina del Mar and an hour’s drive from Santiago. Because of the winery's rural location, if you don't have your own car, it's far easier to join a tour than to attempt to get there using public transportation.

When to get there

The winery is open every day of the week, but you'll have fewer crowds if you visit on a weekday when most people are at work. Summer is an enjoyable time to visit when the weather is pleasant and the harvest hasn’t yet taken place, while the fall harvest can be an inconveniently busy time for visits.

If you’re new to wine tasting, fear not—while plenty of rituals are involved, it’s not as complicated as it looks (and your guide can give you pointers). Start by swirling your wine (it’s easier by setting it on a table for support) before bringing it up to your nose for an inhale. Then, take a sip, letting the wine sit on your tongue before swallowing.
