Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo
1 Chome-1-7 Kasugacho, Tokyo, Japan, 179-0074
London isn’t the only place in the world where Harry Potter fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their favorite movies. Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo transports you into the wizarding world of the film franchise with exhibits and recreated film sets featuring Platform 9 3/4, Diagon Alley, the Ministry of Magic, the Forbidden Forest, and more.
The basics
Modeled on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, the Tokyo version features many of the same sets and attractions, with some elements unique to Japan. Walk through the sets and admire the careful attention to detail, participate in interactive games, take photos of yourself within the magical world, and shop for Harry Potter-themed souvenirs at the gift store.
Many travelers visit Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo independently so they can spend as much time there as they like. Pre-purchased ticket packages make it easy to plan your trip.
Things to know before you go
Tickets must be bought online in advance and aren’t available at the studio on the day of your visit.
Ticket prices vary throughout the year. Check the website for up-to-date prices.
There’s no set time limit at the studio, but allow 3–4 hours for a self-guided tour.
How to get there
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo is in Nerima City, a northwestern part of Tokyo, about 30 minutes by train or car from the central city. Parking is available but it’s also easy to take the train. The nearest station is Toshimaen, on the Seibu Ikebukuro line and Toei Oedo subway line, which is a short walk from the park where the studio tour is located.
When to get there
Opening times vary throughout the year, with both daytime and evening tour packages available. The studio is typically open from early morning until mid-to-late evening. Final admission is about four hours before closing time to allow enough time to fully explore the attractions. The studio is especially popular during weekends and around Japanese holidays, but daily visitor numbers are limited to avoid overcrowding. Book your tickets in advance if you want to visit during busy periods.
Visit the Ghibli Museum
The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo is a must for Harry Potter fans, but if you’re more into Japanese pop culture, plan a trip to the Ghibli Museum, dedicated to the work of anime producer Studio Ghibli. Visiting is an immersive, whimsical experience, and gives you insights into the making of popular animated movies, including Spirited Away and My Neighbor Totoro. It’s very popular, so book tickets well in advance.
