7 Night Western Caribbean Cruise
7 Nights - Mariner of the Seas - Departed from Galveston, Texas
The cruise was amazing. We really enjoyed the convenience and cost savings in being able to drive to the Galveston, TX port since we live in Texas. The countries of Honduras and Mexico offered beautiful beaches and sights. The cruise staff were attentive to detail and provide the ultimate customer service- even anticipating our needs. The onboard cruise activities and entertainment were sufficient, fun and engaging for all ages. The only things that I would say was lacking or did not meet my expectations was the food on the ship. There was very little if any seafood offered in the dining rooms and no at all in the Windjammer buffet style restaurant besides fish- not even a single popcorn shrimp or mere shrimp cocktail which was disappointing. Lastly, the ship itself is showing its age. And the flooring on the ship specifically on Decks 3, 4 and 11 (leading into the main buffet restaurant) were always slippery and an ongoing fall hazard. I did in fact fall on day 2 of the cruise which was the formal dress night going into the buffet on Deck 11 which can be verified by the ship's camera footage.

Excursions were not as expected and very poorly done for as expensive as they were. The first one was so bad that I attempted to cancel the others. I was not allowed to cancel the second one, but it was so bad I filed a complaint when I returned. I was able to cancel the third one. Entertainment was mainly late night and loud "music" none of which appealed to me.
