The resort, dating from 1912, sits on 100 acres with extensively landscaped grounds, including wisteria-covered arbors. All of the guest rooms have balconies or patios. Smoke free premises. 248 units. 4 stories, exterior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

Room had 8-10 large carpet stains. Could not resolve with housekeeping staff. Required professional carpet cleaners. Probably needed carpet replaced. Did not offer any resolution. Asked to be moved to another room. Told only one and No one available to show. Asked to show to myself and approved. Coffee pot and shower required cleaning in reassigned unit.. AAA should checkout referrals. Lobby, cafe and pool area well appointed and maintained. Menu selections appropriate. Many events underway throughout weekend. Locked out of pool area for entire Saturday of the weekend. No communication among staff and management. Front desk staff do not follow through with return calls and what they say they will do for you. I realize this establishment is listed as historical but protocols should be in place to resolve issues promptly and to ensure a pleasant stay.

Not sure why it is called a golf resort. I expected to be right on the course not across a parking l9t & street
