We stayed two nights in room 123, on the ground floor of the building closest to the main lodge. The room was compact but clean and pleasant, and the view was spectacular. Front desk staff were efficient, friendly, and helpful. Our visit was during their last week of operation for the season, it was not crowded at all. Most of the staff we spoke had been there all season, almost all of them for several seasons, so the atmosphere was a bit relaxed as they wound down and prepared for their seasonal shutdown. Their main dining room, the Metate Room, serves exclusively southwestern inspired meals. Farview Lounge offers plainer fare, we're told, but was closed for the season already. Dining staff were willing to accommodate requests for simpler meals; both off-menu items and their standard dishes were served at appropriate temperatures, well prepared, attractively presented, and delicious. This is not a five star luxury resort with concierge service and fluffy bathrobes! It is a well appointed lodge in a beautiful setting where the focus is spending time outside.
There were footprints and blood shots on the ceiling where someone was killing bugs.
