This wonderful hotel in downtown Des Moines features a beautiful design throughout all areas with unique custom artwork. Rooms offer 50-inch flat-panel TVs and high thread count bedding. Smoke free premises. 330 units, some two bedrooms. 8 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

I booked months in advance for a room with two beds. We later learned that we would need a third bed. I called in to ask if that would be possible. The person on the phone said absolutely and marked my reservation accordingly. When we got there, I was advised: 1 - they had overbooked 2 - they couldn’t accommodate my request for a room with two beds 3 - even if they could, they would not be able to bring in a roll away due to Fire Marshall restrictions. After a long and painful discussion, they did get us a room that accommodated our needs, but would have to move to a different room part way through our stay because it had been reserved by others for later. 4 or 5 stars would have been to provide what we had reserved and requested without having to assert ourselves AND without having to switch rooms part way through. It was a hassle and took away from our experience. If they couldn’t accommodate us, then tell us that upfront, not when we arrive and don’t have much flexibility.
