Park Grand Hyde Park

The location was great! The hotel was 2 blocks away from Paddington Station, the one and only stop on the Heathrow Airport Express train! The hotel was also a manageable walk away from Buckingham Palace and lots of other London sites. Housekeeping also did a good job every day. But the walls at the hotel were paper thin! When nearby & overhead guests returned to their rooms at night their conversations sounded as if they were sitting in our room with us!! We also would have liked to make use of an exercise room but that was not an option at this hotel.

The front desk staff were very rude. Our duvet cover had a stain on it. We had housekeeping clean our room, and all that was done was change the towels, and straighten the bed. The stained duvet remained. There were exactly two outlets in the room, both by the desk, nothing by the nightstands. The bathroom was minuscule. The toilet was wedged between the wall and shower stall, 24”! Anyone a bit overweight would be miserable in that bathroom. Breakfast was £12.95 per person, and was not worth it. The lift was slow and noisy. No, we would not stay there again.

We had a lovely pre-cruise visit at the hotel. It was an easy walk from Paddington Station, great for hopping on the tube to visit a wide variety of sight-seeing stops like Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, etc. Yet it was a quiet and cozy neighborhood too, easy to rest at night. The bed was very comfortable. Although the room was on the small side, it had just about everything we needed (a room fridge would be nice to store cold water or drinks). Buffet breakfast was delicious and lots of variety available. Reception staff were awesome, we needed a taxi twice during the visit and they were efficient and helpful in getting it sorted for us. We will definitely stay here again in future visits to London.
