AAA Diamond Inspector Notes
On a wooded hillside, this 740-acre resort offers rooms, most with decks, overlooking a forest, golf links or Siletz Bay. The upper floor units have beautiful vaulted ceilings. The upscale lobby offers high back chairs in front of the large wood fireplace, which is a perfect spot for relaxing after a round of golf. Amenities include half-court basketball, tennis and volleyball. Smoke free premises. 190 units. 2-3 stories (no elevator), exterior corridors. Accessibility (Call).

I had a great time staying here. It rained most of the time I was here, so I didn't get to try out many of the amenities or golf course, but what I did experience was great, with a couple caveats. I do intend to return to this hotel during my next stay in Lincoln City. Pros: - Staff are very helpful and friendly. Even the room service delivery people are just wonderful. - Room was clean and well set up. - The fireplace in the room sets a really nice ambience. - They have Tesla (NACS) chargers on site as well as adapters for other types of EVs, which are free for guest use. - There is an associated set of shops across the street which include a bakery, candy shop, barber shop, and a few restaurants. - Room service was delicious, and I felt the prices were actually better than restaurants near where I live. Cons: - The bedsheets were a bit thin, so I had to keep the room a bit warm at night. Other notes: - No handheld sprayer in the shower. - Water pressure on one sink was quite low while the other was very high.
Salishan has gorgeous grounds and the 70's architecture is beautiful. That said the guest rooms are well dated. Literally every piece of furniture in my room had large gouges on them and my bedsheets had holes worn through. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious but was underwhelming. I ate at the cafe and the Attic restaurant both of which were mediocre yet well expensive. I recommend checking out some of the restaurants in the little village on the other side of 101.
Hello, As a member service organization your feedback is valuable. We are happy to see you had a pleasant stay despite the dated room and underwhelming food. We appreciate you taking the time to share insights with us. Regards, David at AAA Travel
We have stayed at Salishan many times during the past 18 years. During that time frame, it has descended from five stars, then three stars, and now dropped to two (and we feel generous in that assessment). When we arrived, we were placed in a second-floor room. Our dog was traumatized at going up the stairs that have gaps in the rises. When we asked if we could be relocated to a first floor room, the answer was categorically no, they were fully booked. We understand that, but there was no sympathetic effort to come up with a solution. We ended up carrying our dog up the stairs to discover a room far more austere than we ever experienced before: no carpeting on the floor (now just laminate flooring, perhaps hardwood but it didn't appear so) that also made the room colder, the bed was rock hard so that we barely slept during the night, and there were no additional blankets or pillows. We could have used them as it was rainy and damp. The bathroom was spartan: all of the toiletry products are dispensed from cheap dispensers mounted on the walls. For the bathroom sink, the soap dispenser was on the opposite side of the room from the sink. No toiletries are provided in individual containers. No hand or bath soap other than what is in the dispensers. While this may be ecologically laudable, it smacks of cheapness. Nothing during our stay could have induced us to consider this gem of Oregon's history as a "resort".
