I have always loved the GCH and it is an impressive neighborhood hotel. I did not like that the AAA rate I booked was not what was charged to my card at checkout. The hotel tacked on an extra facility fee not disclosed in the room rate I reserved which was kind of shady and unexpected from a hotel of this caliber. It should automatically be included and these extra fees are annoying An extra $30 is what it was and I would not have had a problem with that had I known when I was booking. Just be transparent. The room coffee wasn’t palatable and I had a squeaky bed. Other than those things the room was fine.
