Not the worst place, but definitely wasn't great. If you are coming in summer and want to use the pool, beware that part of the hotel (without a pool) is on the other side of a restaurant so you have to walk past that and through the lobby to the pool. It was a little odd to be told that you drive out and then back in at another section to get to your hotel room. No elevators, but do have ground floor rooms. Walls are thin, so heard people talking in the room next to us all night long. TV worked great first night, but was down all day the next day, did work again that night at least. Not that I went for either the TV or the pool, just some things that were a little odd. Continental breakfast (again you have to walk past the restaurant and into the lobby just to get to it from our hotel room) was fine. Just wanted coffee and muffins. They also had apples, toast, bagels and cream cheese, and cereal. That was great to have included, even if it was a little bit of a trek with my coffee because the lids didn't fit. Nice and private and super close to Hearst Castle and Elephant Seals and Cambria, so that's great. King bed was comfortable and room was nice and clean. I'd bring my own soap next time as the tiny little bars didn't seem to feel like soap at all. Pet friendly, which is really nice too. Mexican restaurant in between hotel parts is a little pricey, but food was good and beats having to drive, so that is also a plus. Also very nice & easy to walk down to the beach from this hotel. All in all, not the best place, but good enough to sleep with a day of adventure outside.

John was great! He helped us figure out where to eat and even what dishes he recommended. This information is so helpful when you do not know the area.
