The Dominican Republic is the only country in the world where larimar stone is found, and it also boasts some of the most prized amber in the Caribbean. On this cultural experience, you'll see larimar and amber up close, learning about their origin and value. During the tour, local artisans will create products right before your eyes, demonstrating the traditional crafting process. You'll enjoy a tasting of artisanal Dominican chocolate, made with local cacao, and a tasting of Dominican coffee, renowned for its aroma and flavor. You'll also savor a typical Dominican lunch, prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The tour continues to Higüey, a city where many Punta Cana hotel workers live, to experience daily life and local culture. The experience concludes on a public beach, where you can mingle with locals in an authentic setting.
