About ArchboldIn a region once known as the Great Black Swamp, Archbold is surrounded by fertile farmland. About 5 miles northwest of town is the 321-acre Goll Woods State Nature Preserve, an old-growth woods reminiscent of the Great Black Swamp; go north on SR 66 for 1.5 miles to Township Road F, then west for 3 miles to Township Road 26 and go south about a quarter-mile.
Archbold is home to one of the country’s largest furniture manufacturers, Sauder Woodworking, and to ConAgra Foods, makers of such brands as La Choy, Healthy Choice and Chef Boyardee.

ShoppingDefiance Street (SR 66) offers independent shops and boutiques and an old-fashioned “Main Street” atmosphere. Sauder Furniture Store & Outlet, on the grounds of Historic Sauder Village, sells the local company's line of ready-to-assemble furniture.
