About PalatkaJudge Isaac Bronson, one of Palatka's foremost residents, was a member of the 25th U.S. Congress and was responsible for proposing the act by which Florida became a state. His restored home, Bronson-Mulholland House, 100 Madison St., was built in 1854 and is open to the public; phone (386) 329-0140. Adjacent to the home is the Putnam Historic Museum; phone (386) 385-3975 for hours. Rodman Reservoir, 10 miles southwest off SR 19, is a popular recreation destination, particularly for bass fishing. Several boat ramps are available in the area.
