Adventure Park Geelong
1249 Bellarine Highway, Wallington, Victoria, 3222
A short hop from Melbourne, Adventure Park Geelong is Victoria’s biggest water park and a popular spot to cool off from the summer sun. The park’s 24 attractions offer something to suit all ages, from thrilling waterslides and carnival rides to a lazy river and splash pools.
The Basics
A day pass for Adventure Park Geelong offers full and unlimited access to the park’s rides and activities. Brave a ride on the Tornado waterslide, the biggest and longest in Victoria; stay dry with a ride on the Ferris wheel or Crazy Coaster; cruise around the lake on a paddleboat; or play a game of miniature golf. Tickets are priced based on height, and season passes are also available.
Things to Know Before You Go
The park is ideal for families, with activities most suited to kids age 5–12. Some slides and activities have height and weight restrictions.
On-site facilities include paid lockers, sun loungers (free) and cabanas (for rent), an ATM, picnic and BBQ areas, and a selection of cafés and restaurants.
Budget travelers can save money by bringing their own food and refillable bottles (there are numerous water fountains).
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
Free parking is available on-site.
The park and pools are wheelchair-accessible, but not all of the activities are suitable for those with limited mobility.
How to Get There
The park lies along the Bellarine Peninsula, 50 miles (80 kilometers) southwest of Melbourne. From downtown Melbourne, it’s about an hour and 20 minutes by car. There is no public transport directly to the park, but trains run to Geelong from Melbourne, and Searoad ferries run from Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula to nearby Queenscliff. The park is about a 20-minute taxi ride from either destination.
When to Get There
Adventure Park is open from November to April, although opening days and times vary, so it’s worth checking in advance. The busiest time is in December and January, when an early arrival is recommended to secure parking, sun loungers, and picnic spots. Look out for seasonal events such as the Easter Egg hunt in April and the Summer Nights in January, which include evening access to the park, with an outdoor cinema and live entertainment.
