Located on the east coast of Rhodes, Agathi Beach sits within a picturesque and secluded cove hemmed in by rocky hills. Considered one of the area’s prettiest beaches, Agathi features fine, golden sands and typically calm, clear sea. It is a lovely place to soak up the sun, swim, and snorkel.
The basics
Agathi Beach is a quiet and secluded beach with no amenities. Bring chairs, umbrellas, food, drinks, and snorkeling gear, or pick up provisions at the nearby town of Haraki. It’s a great spot for families with children, thanks to its stretch of shallow waters. A few underwater rocks along the beach offer great snorkeling conditions.

Bring everything you need as sunbed, umbrella rentals, and beach bars are no longer available.
The village of Haraki is within walking distance and has shops and restaurants.
How to get there
Agathi Beach is located on the eastern coast of Rhodes, around 24 miles (38 kilometers) southeast of Rhodes Town and 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) north of Lindos. The town of Haraki is around a 25-minute walk to the south. There’s free parking nearby, or you can take a taxi or a bus from Rhodes Town.
When to get there
Agathi Beach is most popular over the summer, though it rarely gets too crowded given the lack of amenities, such as rentals, food, and drink options. Bring everything you might need for the day to maximize your time on the beach, or head to Haraki for provisions.
Nearby attractions
Located on a hill south of Agathi Beach is the ruins of Feraklos Castle. Once used by pirates, it was conquered by the Knights of St. John in the early 1300s and abandoned in the 1500s. It’s possible to visit the castle, but be aware that the path up is steep and sometimes slippery. On the other side of the castle is the small sand and pebble beach of Haraki, which offers a quiet beach experience with more amenities than Agathi.
