Avenue of Stars

The Basics

Walk along the Avenue of Stars and find over 100 laser cutouts of handprints mounted on handrails along the harborfront. Visitors can scan QR codes for more information and selected movie clips. Statues, including those of Bruce Lee and Anita Mui, now stand barrier-free and include water features and augmented-reality technology. Additional improvements include double the amount of seating and a dramatic increase in shaded areas and green spaces along the promenade.

A number of sightseeing tours include a stop at the Avenue of Stars, including walking tours of Kowloon and sightseeing tours of top Hong Kong attractions. Or opt for a hop-on hop-off bus tour to explore Hong Kong at your leisure.

How to Get There

The Avenue of Stars is located along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. Take the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui (exit J), or take the ferry from Central or Wan Chai Ferry Pier to Tsim Sha Tsui. A number of buses also stop nearby, including lines 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 28.

When to Get There

The Avenue of Stars can be visited at any time. Offering stellar views of the Hong Kong skyline across Victoria Harbor, it’s especially magical after the sun sets. The nightly Symphony of Lights show starts at 8pm and lasts for about 10 minutes. Get here early to claim a good spot.

Sustainable Features

The revamped Avenue of Stars incorporates a number of sustainable features. For example, the pavement uses glass from recycled bottles and is designed in a special pattern to reflect the sun’s glare. The balustrades are made from environmentally friendly materials, such as rice husk, salt, and mineral oil, and mobile carts include solar panel roofs.
