Blackpool Tower Eye
Blackpool Tower, Promenade, Blackpool, Lancashire, FY1 4BJ
Perched 380 feet (116 meters) up the Blackpool Tower, the Blackpool Tower Eye has indoor and outdoor observation decks and commands spectacular views. Visitors can soak in the panoramas, stand on the glass Skywalk above Blackpool promenade, and enjoy a 4D cinematic journey through Blackpool’s history as a curtain-raiser to their visit.
The Basics
Blackpool Tower Eye visits begin with a ground-floor 4D cinema experience that takes you on a journey through Blackpool’s history. Afterward, visitors ride the elevator to the Eye’s indoor viewing decks, from which stairs lead to the open-air platform. From here on clear days, you can gaze over Blackpool’s beach, the Irish Sea, and Lancashire’s countryside and coast. You can also step onto the glass Skywalk floor and have a drink at Bar 380.
Visitors can prebook admission to the Blackpool Tower Eye online, which can reduce waiting times on the day of your visit. You can also enjoy included entry to the Eye by purchasing the Blackpool Big Ticket sightseeing pass.
Things to Know Before You Go
The Blackpool Tower Eye is a must-visit for all Blackpool visitors.
The 4D cinema and indoor viewing deck are wheelchair- and stroller-accessible, while the open-air deck is not.
Be prepared for water spray and booming sound in the 4D cinema.
How to Get There
The Blackpool Tower Eye is situated in Blackpool Tower, which stands between the Central and North piers on Blackpool promenade. The tower is easily accessible on foot along the promenade and via public transit; buses stop at nearby stop No. 4, and trams stop conveniently at the tower. Drivers should follow the promenade (A584) to the tower and can park at the nearby Houndshill shopping center or West Street parking lot.
When to Get There
The Eye is open daily, though hours vary according to the season. The Eye may close in poor weather and gets busy at peak periods such as weekends, so if you’re visiting then, be ready to join lines at the elevator. If you can, time your visit to coincide with sunset or the early evening switching on of the Blackpool Illuminations for extra-special views.
Getting the Most from the Blackpool Tower Eye
For an enhanced experience, visit Bar 380 on the Eye’s indoor deck—access is included in your ticket. Drinks are at your own cost, but savoring the 360-degree views over cocktails, beers, mocktails, or sodas will make your visit especially memorable.
