Chimelong Water Park

Part of the massive Chimelong Tourist Resort in Guangzhou, Chimelong Water Park is one of the most popular water parks in the world, welcoming more than 2 million visitors a year. Spanning 450 acres (182 hectares), the largest water park in Asia offers plenty of slides, pools, and rides for families and thrill-seekers alike.
The basics
The park has colorful rides and attractions for a range of visitors. Thrill seekers can zip down the Master Blaster, swirl around the Tornado and the Boomerango, and race others on the high-speed slides and racing slides. It's home to the largest wave pool in Asia, with nine different types of waves. More relaxed features include spa pools, massage pools, infinity pools, and lazy rivers, and there are also dedicated kids' areas and lots of family options. Live performances, from bands to acrobats, are held throughout the day.
Chimelong Water Park is one of several attractions at the Chimelong Tourist Resort, which also includes an amusement park, an animal safari, and a circus, and you can book a combo ticket covering multiple attractions for the best value. Day and overnight trips from Hong Kong are also available.
Things to know before you go
*Certain rides have height and weight restrictions.
*Outside food, drink, and pool toys are not permitted inside the park. There are multiple food options on-site, and rentals of pool toys are available. The park also has gift shops.
*Locker rentals are available for your belongings.
How to get there
The water park is inside the Chimelong Tourist Resort, in the Panyu district of Guangzhou. Take the metro to Hanxi Chimelong or Huijiang stations, then board the free shuttle bus to the resort. Free shuttles are also available at the Lianhuashan Port and Shunde Harbour for those taking the ferry from Hong Kong.
When to get there
The park is only open from April to September. It can be particularly busy on weekends, so visit during the week for smaller crowds. Multiple shows take place daily, so check the schedule ahead of time or on arrival to plan your day.
